This week has been rough. Really tough to be honest. So by the end of the week I was totally at that point where I was just wishing hard that I was up at the home of one of my good friends and could just kind of fall apart while being hugged so tight.

But as I got to that place within my mind where that is what I wanted more than anything… God interrupted my thought progression. Why can’t I learn to receive that same safety and comfort from being in His arms? His arms are always there, always with us, always present, always willing and always able. His love is always deep enough. His patience is always long enough. His understanding is always deep enough. So why is it in those moments that I do not turn to Him and ask His arms to surround me?

So this morning once I got up I felt encouraged to look up scripture to remind myself just how present and willing He is to be those arms in my times of need. I decided that this would be a good place to post these to help myself remember. If you have any scripture or thoughts to add to my list, please drop a comment!

Psalms 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him

Psalms 36:7 How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Jeremiah 29:11-12 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Jeremiah 33:3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

2 Samuel 22:7 In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears.

Psalms 139:5 You hem me in–behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
